Meta-post
This is a post which briefly describes why I have moved on from Drupal to managing my static file with the help of pelican.
- Since I'm writing so rarely, it didn't make sense for me to often go through the pain of upgrading Drupal and all it's countless modules.
- I got sick of Drupal's WYSIWYG editor- it's so hard to get it do what I wanted that in the end I was writing content directly in HTML. And human's aren't actually good at that, at least not without the help of a decent text editor.
- I wanted to learn the pros and cons of plain-text writing/formatting. In the end of this year, my goal (not to be confused with New Year's resolutions) is to write my master's work only using free software. I really don't enjoy the stability of OpenOffice/LibreOffice. I don't know what markup exactly will I end up using for this task. De facto markup seems to be LaTeX, especially for scientific publications but it seems too heavy for my needs. Will see.
The old content of my blog can be found in archive.
